I approached Barbra to help me look for a home. The wish list was created, and I sent it off to Barbra to fill it. Much to my surprise, the first day of house shopping I walked into our dream home! The home overlooked a conservation area, with pool. Dog walking trails are right behind the property, and the home was newly renovated with top quality craftsmanship.

During the drive back home I decided to put an offer on the property. Barbra drew up an offer within hours, and presented it to the owners. The very next day, the offer was signed and within the price I was comfortable purchasing. During the negotiations Barbra was professional and a tough negotiator, overcoming stumbling blocks put forth by the owner to bring up the price.

Barbra listened to what I needed to have done, and what my desired outcome was. Having been in sales for 25 years, I have been witness to many high pressure sales techniques and processes. There was none of this from Barbra. It was clear to me from the first meeting, up until the actual purchase of our home, that Barbra was client focused. And she called on closing day to make sure the move went smooth!

From the time of offer acceptance, to the close of our home, Barbra handled any hiccups in the transition of owners, and home inspection.

We very recently listed and sold our house with Barbra Pollock and Peter Gall of Harvey Kalles. 
It has been 25 years since we last sold and bought a house so we were very concerned that we pick the right company and agent.  Also from the information we were hearing from the media we were concerned about the house market stability and potential difficulty in selling our house. We asked for proposals from 6 Real Estate agents. We asked for their appraisal of our house, how they arrived at the appraisal figure, their marketing plan, their selling record generally and within our area, their commission rate and flexibility and we evaluated how we felt we could work with them.  Using this process we selected Barbra Pollock and Peter Gall.  Peter was on vacation most of this time so the majority of our interaction was with Barbra. 
We are most impressed with the service provided by Barbra.  We would strongly recommend her as an agent who has the client's interests at heart.  She is very knowledgeable of the area and in particular was able to sell the features of our home.  Our home was not the standard house in the area as we had added an extra storey several years ago.  She was well prepared.  She was able to discuss our home, the others in the neighbourhood and explain why our home was priced as it was and what were the special features.   Also Barbra living close by was a real advantage.
Barbra was always available to assist with any concern or request we might have - even to going into the house before a showing because I thought I had left some jewellery out on a counter.  We were disappointed with a stager, as was Barbra, so she went and interviewed 2 others until she identified a stager with whom we were both happy, and was able to meet our price point.   Barbra is a very hands on person, providing a lot of personal support and reassurance but at the same time is very professional.

Because of the uniqueness of the house in the neighbourhood we received a wide range of suggested appraisals for our house.  The pricing provided by Barbra and Peter was aggressive yet realistic.  We sold on MLS within 6 days at  99.2% of asking price.  We were very pleased with this outcome.  Barbra was able to point out to the buying agent the rationale for the pricing of our home which we believe was a key factor is reaching the final price.
In conclusion it was a pleasure to work with Barbra.  Selling a home when people have lived in it for 25 years,  made it their own, added many personal features means that the sellers are emotionally attached to their home.  Barbra understood this and made the selling experience pleasant, gave us good advice and kept our expectations in line.  We will certainly be recommending her to our friends and acquaintances.

Late last year, my husband and I found ourselves in a situation which required us to find a new place to live in the big and scary Toronto housing market. My sister recommended Barb who was quick to meet with us and learn about our situation and who listened to our "have to have" and "would be nice" lists.
 
Very quickly, Barb had us looking at properties and because Barb had heard what we said, we didn't spend time looking at houses that were not a fit for us.  Barb was very patient with our endless questions and guided us skillfully through the entire process of visiting houses, offers, negotiations, inspections, and finally closing, always making us feel as if we were her number one priority.
